The search for a home, a job and a life continue here in Sydney. At least the sun is shining, it's hot as... here, sunshine makes people better looking, it's great! So I've been bumping into random punters from back home all over the city, yesterday I met Julie, an old veteran of the IT house back in the 'skeagh an we went for obligatory pints. We were joined by a drunken kiwi bloke claiming to be an all black, perhaps he even was one.
I'm still residing on the floor at Lizzies and I'm starting a strange sales job on monday, don't reckon it's gonna last long (at least my feet won't) but this site could turn into a catalogue of the crap backpacker jobs Sydney has to offer.

Welcome to Australia!
I've been here just two days now and the big search begins for a job and a place to live, I've started this new blog because I thought the the name Ozobel would be sooooooooo funny, ha ha! Well Sydney seems nice, sunny friendly and full of Irish people, not that I really mind, I've been travelling for 9 months already, been to as many different countrys and it's come to the stage when a familiar Irish accent takes away the temptation of becoming homesick. I met and knew so many people who had been to Australia and all of them gave me their words of wisdom "whatever you do don't live in Bondi" "Bondi is the best place to live" "don't sign up with an agency, they'll take all your money" "the only way to get a job is to go through an agency" and it goes on and on and on, I think I'll just have to figure out whats best for me at this stage. Advice is great but everyone's different (I'm not).
So I've seen the opera house and the harbour bridge, they look remarkably like their photos! and I've wandered around aimlessly. I met up with Lizzie (Ciara N's sister) and I'm going to go and stay with her for a few days out in Bondi till I get myself a room to rent someplace, wish me luck!
